Thanks, Shell. He's already picking out cars and we're trying to be realistic about what's a good first car for a young kid (aka safe); but he seems to appreciate the fact that he won't be driving mine without me being there since it could easily be lethal in inexperienced hands. But I'll take him to some track days with me and let him learn there, so he can learn to handle things in a controlled atmosphere and work out some of that excess adreniline.
As for busy, that's great advice. His vice principal/disciplinarian told me the same thing at a recent meeting. Last couple years he's been on the school football and basketball teams, as well as on neighborhood teams. He likes sports, so that's good; and he gets honors frequently though not always. He's a good kid. He told me he wants to go to Hawaii soon, but I doubt that's where unc's going next.
