She didn't do anything wrong. I mean, I think she should send the things and money back, but why feel guilty for people who believed a story on the internet? She was writing and it wasn't her fault so many people got attracted to her story.
With the internet being as accessible and feature filled as it is now, it is understandable how some people do not differentiate the internet from the real life, but being "emotionally exploited" is nobody's fault but the persons' who feels that way.
I've been lied to on the internet. hell, I had an ongoing "internet friendship" with a person whose entire life story was a lie. Sure it was weird after he admitted it, but it didn't bring my world down. It's internet. All I see are screen names.
