I had this today for the first time and I think a small part of my brain exploded from pleasure. Such an amazing combination of flavors, very subtle and not sweet in the slightest. I want to find a recipe to make
halo-halo that someone else has tried with success. The mom that made it was pretty busy and doesn't have a recipe. I know that she used evaporated fat-free milk, purple yams, gelled coconut, some kind of sugar plums... Oh my.
I've had very bad luck with internet recipes for filipino receipes... like DISASTER outcomes. Someday, I'll attempt lumpia, but for now, I want to try this dish.
Anyone have experience with this one?
