I've drove by Manzanar for years, but never stopped. We visited with my mother and step-father and I don't think they realized such a place ever existed.
The history of Manzanar angers me. It always has. It's embarrassing. It's unconscionable. At the same time, the internees confound me. Many went willingly and thought that what they were doing was good for the United States and this was just their part of the war effort.
