With regards to the name of this thread, I used to like scented bath products, now I prefer them to be a lot simpler smelling, just clean.
I no longer buy any old thing, and stick to what I know works. I buy most of my bathing products at the pharmacy, to ensure quality, simpler scents, and something that is not too harsh on my body.
I use several producst by Uriage. When I use their shower gel or face wash, I can instantly feel the change in my skin and how clean it is becoming as I use it. All the products smell like fresh soap. They could be unisex.
With my hair, I can use more scented products but I still like quality. Currently I like Aussie and Tigi products, because they actually do what they say and smell divine.
I rarely ever take baths. I'm far too fidgety for baths. I can't sit in one for too long before I get restless.
I think that gel thing in the OP is pretty weird. I wouldn't use it. I certainly don't want to feel like I'm bathing in thick creamy gel. Ugh.

Whether we write or speak or do but look
We are ever unapparent. What we are
Cannot be transfused into word or book.
Our soul from us is infinitely far.
However much we give our thoughts the will
To be our soul and gesture it abroad,
Our hearts are incommunicable still.
In what we show ourselves we are ignored.
The abyss from soul to soul cannot be bridged
By any skill of thought or trick of seeming.
Unto our very selves we are abridged
When we would utter to our thought our being.
We are our dreams of ourselves, souls by gleams,
And each to each other dreams of others' dreams.
