Everybody has posted some real good advice.

My only suggestion would be to keep up on your paperwork. If you're on financial aid it's important to make sure you keep the wheels greased. Get in touch with your advisor and ask if there is anything more you can do to make it easier.

And you can't emphasize enough GOING TO CLASS AND KEEPING UP.

I would also advise take a course you're sure to like that first semester. I know sometimes you don't have a choice, but mixing good classes with the bad classes helps the whole experience.
