Mutilation is extreme. Mutilation is abuse. Besides take it from someone who had it done a bit later in life. To circumcise an adult or one with a fully developed penis is harder than an infant. I takes 2 weeks to recover and you must NOT have a full bladder when going to bed because morning wood is a motherf***er.
Kind of like this. Let's say 99.8% of earths population don't get appendicitis, only the 0.2% do. To remove the appendix at birth in order to prevent appendicitis would be unnecessary but I would be totally fine with it if it means not giving birth at the same time my wife does.

Even if he did pierce it, that just means putting a hole through it, which is usually temporary. Removing a entire foreskin is not temporary, nor would it have been his choice (unless he got it as an adult).
