The question of whether its real or legend depends on what we are asking. Is it real as in, has there ever been something like this? In all likelihood, yes. Is it real as in it is a real fad that is sweeping the nation? No.
The thing about teenage sexuality is that they are so pumped with hormones that there is little actual planning of big time sex parties... they just happen because kids are horny.
