I'm curious and annoyed that it seems every time someone hammers another player with a clean hit, he get's 5 and a game like Kronwall got when he drilled Havlat.
Perfectly clean hit, yet the league says Havlat was in a 'vulnerable situation' and that's why Kronwall got tossed with 17 minutes in penalties for good measures. Why the fuck don't we just turn it into a European League and just take hitting out of the game? That's what that cocksucker Bettman is doing anyways, trying to 'pussify' the league.
Now lets see who put Havlat in this 'vulnerable situation', I blame the defenceman who gave him the suicide pass, they teach you as kids not to give suicide passes to your players, so the d-man should have been smarter with his pass. Also Havlat gets some of the blame, he's the dumb bastard looking behind him for a pass, did he forget it was body contact hockey for a bit?
Kronwall was just doing his job, as a former defenceman I would have been drooling had I seen Havlat looking back like that. I remember when I started playing hockey and they used to teach you to hit to hurt because the guy hitting you isn't going to hold back, now it seems they hit to hug and they expect the same treatment back.
Let's hope the NHL gets some balls back, but I'm not holding my breath, I reckon they'll be wearing skirts and carrying purses for many years to come.
