I'm diehard United and I agree... I felt the award was total sentiment and honestly, I think Giggs doesn't really want it that way. He's not going to give it back, but he would rather win it in a great season. He's had a great season for his age, but Vidic was the clear winner. I put that scouse bastard Gerrard behind Vidic. Now we'll see if Messi wins the right award or if Ronaldo repeats.
I have a feeling that Vidic was dismissed due to poor performances against Livershit and the fact that Rio really is the key to the defense. Van Der Sar is good, but his age is catching up, and really if it wasn't for Vidic, Rio, Evra and O'Shea.. the clean sheets wouldn't be where they are this season. Rafael however, should get the young players award..he's been amazing this season. I can't wait to see what comes from him later.
Watch for Berba to make a huge impression next season, and if Ireland can get a supporting cast, he'll be great. What I'm most interested in however, is seeing just how spanish Livershit becomes. Rafa is hell bent on bringing over a wealth of Spanish players..
