Outrage: an interesting-looking film about Republican politicians and gay rights

Is this going to be an eye-opening film, or do many Americans already know this kind of thing is going on?
It's this sort of issue that has me still thinking that America is far more conservative than I can imagine.
Are gay republicans really this self-loathing?
I'm intrigued. I want to see this film.
