I've watched a few movies in the past few days.
The Day the Earth Stood Still - 0/5. I didn't like this and don't know why I watched the entire thing. The storyline was non-existent, the acting was terrible (Kathy Bates, what were you thinking???), and the special effects weren't anything special at all. I enjoy mindless yet entertaining movies, but this movie was just mindless.
State Of Play - 3.5/5. I really like Russell Crowe, and he didn't disappoint in this movie. In fact, the acting in general was good by everyone involved. The storyline dragged at some places, but overall a pretty good thriller.
In the Electric Mist - 2.5/5. Hubby and I saw this at Blockbuster and decided to give it a shot. The story is about a cop investigating the murder of a prostitute, and it's set in the bayous of Louisiana. It has a great cast - Tommy Lee Jones, Peter Sarsgaard, John Goodman, and Mary Steenburgen. The acting was pretty good, but the story was a little slowpaced at times and jumped around too much for me. Decent flick, but nothing too exciting.
