My opinion here hinges on whether or not that man knew that he was sterile. Did he know that he was not the father of the children, or had his wife cheated on him?
If he knew that he was, or likely was sterile, then it seems he deceived the other couple. If he did not know, then I can't say I think he did anything wrong.
