That is untenable. Way to set up a catch 22.

It's not about vindication, it's about having a reason for the right at all.
We have free speech because it's a human right, the right to seek, convey, and receive free ideas, and without this right, we could not correct any system. As self-correction is a part of any successful and free state, free speech and free expression must also be. I could ramble out an answer for pretty much everything in the Constitution and the BOR, and I could probably cite specific examples of the rights being utilized for good.
I'm really glad that everyone rose up against the British once upon a time, I really am, but it's not the 17th century anymore. Determined farmers with muskets would be unable to overthrow the US government should it become corrupt, especially considering that even when there was massive systemic corruption quite recently nothing happened. Neither willing, nor able, the collective Second Amendment proponents of the USA have demonstrated in no uncertain terms that an amendment ensuring that the populace should be armed to fight our tyrannical government has no teeth and no meaning.
Rewrite the damned thing so that it makes sense for what is happening now, in 2009:
"A well regulated state of readiness and armament being necessary to the security of one's person, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
