I'd be interested to know what Chinook jargon loanwords they're talking about. I don't really see the PacNW dialect having a particular influence from California; I think the influence is more from Canada.

Sam Elliott was raised in Oregon-graduated highschool there with a friend of mine, but the friend's accent isn't nearly as heavy. Sometimes I wonder if it's voice that makes a regional accent/dialect more or less pronounced.
