Tommy Westphall

I debated where to put this, paranoia perhaps, but not quite. Found on the net maybe... but there was more to it.

I am quoting most of this information from this site: Tommy Westphall - A Multiverse Explored
I am just reducing it to a more readable level. If there is any doubt, consider the words not my own.

Remember the TV show from waaaay back in the day called St. Elsewhere? Remember how it ended?

Tommy Westphall was an autistic child on the TV series St Elsewhere who, it was revealed in the closing moments of the final episode of that series, had
dreamt the entire run of the show.

Okay you might ask, what does this have to do with anything?

St Elsewhere has direct connections to twelve other television series - many of them direct crossovers of character to and from the series.
Others make mention of specific parts of the St Elsewhere fictional universe, placing them within the same fictional sphere.

Basically, anything that has any tie with St Elsewhere, be it a fictional place, character names, awards, newspapers, cigarette brands, companies place some shows within the same fictional universe...
They all would be in the same "Multiverse" as St. Elsewhere.

Remember when Phobee's (from Friends) sister Ursula was the dog walker for the couple on Mad About You?
That places all of the characters from Friends in the same universe as all of the characters from Mad About You
(and also in the same multiverse as St Elsewhere).

That is basically what we are taking about here, except on a much... MUCH larger scale.

It should also be added that If St Elsewhere exists only within Tommy Westphall's mind, then so does every other series set within the same fictional sphere.

Alrighty you say, sounds plausible, but what exactly are we taking here? We are talking about this Douche here: TomFontana.com

Tom Fontana was one of the lead writers for St. Elsewhere, he is also the producer for a TV show named Homicide (heard of it?)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HLOTS#Crossover_episodes
St Elsewhere - which had a direct crossover with Homicide - had many connections to other TV shows. And cross-pollinating Homicide with Dick Wolf's Law & Order franchise bred even more connections.

The scope you ask? 280 shows are connected to Homicide: Life on the Street and St. Elsewhere, for a grand total of 282 series.

280 TV shows that exist only inside the mind of an autistic child.

Woah.. did I blow your mind?

No? Okay... to continue.

So you might be asking yourself: "Self, why do I care?"

You should care, this is important! (not really)

You wanna see it?

I feel I should warn you, it's huge! (that is probably the only time I will ever get to use that line, so let me run with it.)

It should be noted that it was 4:30 in the AM when I was putting this together, so I might come across as a bit insane.
