l'addition, s'il vous plaît << which about sums up my French and might explain why I didn't know the tip was already included so I tipped on top of the tip and they seemed a bit overly grateful until I found out later that I was a stupid American....this was back in the 1970's at Maxim's in Paris so the tab was already a bit steep!
