If someone does it often enough, people will start to notice the pattern, and treat the person... differently.

Yes, and some people don't have enough experience to be able to step back, give themselves a minute or two to think, and
then post. I have trouble with it too, that's one reason I tend to go back and edit to fix things like bad wording.
