I'll drink to that. Hey, let's meet up at the longest bar in the world. Where is it, anyway?
A few years ago I was at Lulu's in Kitchener and they claimed it had the longest bar in the world, I even have some shot glasses from there with that printed on it; not to mention that the second bar in Lulu's is also huge so together they are a daunting superlative:
The bar has 103.5 meters (340 feet) in length and runs part of the length of Lulu’s Roadhouse (which is a bar, a restaurant, a dining room, as well as a nightclub complex). It is located just off Highway 401 outside Kitchener, Ontario. It has been attested by the Guinness Book of Records as the longest bar in the world, but others have taken its place since then.
Do you know where is Canada’s second longest bar in the world? Same place! Lulu’s Roadhouse has a second bar which is about 91 meters (300 feet).
Then we have the Beer Barrel Saloon in Put-in-Bay, Ohio which more recently lays claim to the longest "permanent" bar in the world:
"The world's longest permanent bar is the 405-ft-10-in-long
counter in the "Beer Barrel Saloon" at Put-in-Bay,
South Bass Island, OH, opened in 1989."
(Excerpt from the 1994 Edition of the Guiness World Book of Records)
And the longest (time-wise) continuously operating bar in North America is The Horse That You Came In On Saloon at Fells Point in Baltimore MD.
