The Grammy Awards
Are happening right now!
I tuned in just in time to start with Coldplay. I liked the piano bit with Jay-Z in there a little bit.
Carrie Underwood had a solid performance. I haven't heard that song yet.
It's nice to see Al Green too!
I like that Sara Barielles was nominated for song of the year. I saw her at UMass before she was even a big deal, and I think she's a fabulous musician.
I'm not a big fan of Kid Rock at all. I never thought I'd hear Werewolves of London and Sweet Home Alabama butchered at the same time until his single "All Summer Long" came out.
Will continue to update with thoughts.

Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift. This didn't work as well as they had it planned I bet. Taylor Swift was alright but, the song was boring, and a poor attempt at teen angst. Ended with an awkward rejection of Miley's high five! ha Ironic that they are introducing best pop collaboration with vocals. Wow, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, was a pleasant surprise, I kind of figured it would be given to Chris Brown and Jordin Sparks for "No Air".
Jennifer Hudson is up. WOW! I'm so glad that she really showed her stuff. She's fantastic, I loved her in Dreamgirls, and she's got so much soul. This must feel so good for her, especially after what's happened with her family. An extremely emotional performance. Absolutely amazing! A standing ovation and she deserved every minute of praise. She'll probably be one of the major stories for the night.

Jonas Brothers + Stevie Wonder: I really wish this was just Stevie Wonder. Seriously. Sorry Jonas brothers, this has nothing to do with your music but you annoy me, and you are nothing more than ham, cheese, and bologna. OOPS, messed up the words to Superstitious! I don't even know which one of you did it... Nick? I don't know your damn names. You're great for a Disney concert, but not quite Grammy material yet in my mind. Just to reiterate, I really really wish that was just Stevie.
Best Rock Album: Blink 182 presenting, and Travis Barker in a sling from that crash he was in. Giving themselves a little too much "back together" promo, and people didn't buy it that much. Kid Rock and Metallica probably shouldn't have been nominated, but Coldplay got it anyways, who didn't see that one coming.
