Keep a non-perishable emergency lunch at work if you can--for those days when you're running late, don't feel like making a lunch, or happen to forget it at home. Keep all you need handy as well: a can opener, dishes, a kettle, whatever.
This has saved me so many times. It helps having a microwave/kettle available.
