I'm a big believer of the fun-per-dollar ratio of Subarus. 5 and a half second 0-60 times, ridiculous handling, all weather performance, and good comfort and reliability, not to mention the immense amount of aftermarket mods available. For a couple extra grand, you can tune one to 300+ hp. Everyone has their preferences, Subies are mine. Here's an example of one in your price range, but they are everywhere.
