Just because the evidence doesn't disprove the hologram theory doesn't mean it's correct. In fact, if it's the hologram theory I've seen before, it's non-falsifiable and therefore not even a valid theory.
I'd also hold off on speculation until something peer-reviewed comes out. Isn't New Scientist the magazine that, in the past five years, has had an article on Second Life in most issues?
