my future roommate had to go to the summer session @ UT and he told me waht was going on there.
they charge you $12/month (each person has his/her own outlet in the room) and you have a 3gb bandwidth. here the speed is like super fast, he said like 4mb or so.
if you use over 3gb, you get switched over to a different server and the speed can get as low as 40k!! (AAAAAAAAH!!)
and you can pay like 40bucks a month and get 12gb bandwidth.
this is fucking weak as hell!

i use up 3gb's in 3 days at my current rate (cable @ home).
anyone know how colleges do this? and what about the secondary server you get switched to?
and do colleges allow you to have a different isp ?? cuz i found dsl in austin for 30 bucks. or do they block that too?
