big pile of garbage in the woods behind my dad's house in Chiefland, FL.
a place for someone to sit and observe the garbage, or maybe just enjoy a beer in the presence of the garbage...who am I to judge, I am out there taking pictures of the garbage
the rottweiler who barked at me all the time I was taking pictures of the garbage
the photographer, indulging in self-validation, even amongst the garbage
some pretty fungus

We went to Manatee Springs that day and I didn't get any terribly interesting shots, so I turned them into these 1970s looking high contrasty things. They remind of the illustrations from a book of poems that my aunt had when I was a kid. Hippie, nature-y poems to be sure, for she is both. I don't remember the name.
this one I did in a sepia tone, instead
when we got out to the Suwanee River, the sky was alive with vultures, there were hundreds of them...kind of freaky, especially for my folks who are getting up in years, lol
Then even later on that day, we went to Cedar Key. It was foggy.
I have no idea how to take good pictures at night, so again, I had to fool around with them to make them interesting. This is still Cedar Key.
on the new pier - made entirely of steel and concrete, kind of strange
That's my dad on the left.
My daughter and I left the next day and took a side jaunt into Gainesville, but she is in almost all of those. I got some good shots of her, though.
Well, that is my mish-mash of images from last weekend's trip. As disjointed as they are they pretty much summarize the shapes and colors that have been in my head the last few days.
Merry fucking christmas, ya'll!
