I have no car. Problem is that I can't ride around on a bicycle in this city, too many other cars. I would be happy to see a ban on cars in the city. Only public transport and bicycles allowed.
Use your car only for long roads. Build railways and subways for commuters. Build giant parking zones at the edge of the city for everyone's car.
But what am I saying, all these things imply there is a "us" somewhere planning everything for our own good. There is no such thing. Our civilization is a swarm of locusts. From time to time I propose solutions but it's like adding a better engine to the car with square wheels.
