Well, asking how much something hurts isn't going to help you make this decision. Everyone's pain tolerance is different. Mine hurt and I got a bit light headed but the more annoying part for me is always the healing. Getting pierced hurts but it's momentary, healing a piercing though is a 6 month process (after a couple weeks the constant soreness is gone and after a couple months they feel fine except for the occasional bump). In the end, it was very worth it though.

My advice would be to go for it, but find a good piercer because it does make a difference. Get captive rings instead of barbells, I switched mine to barbells after three months and it looks better but they get caught all the time! Also if you're going to get it done in the winter, keep your nipples shielded from the cold as to minimize discomfort. H2Ocean is a the best aftercare I've ever used and keep in mind that if you don't like them, you can take them out.

I know that doesn't really answer your question about the pain but I hope it helps a bit.
