I have legs that do what spinelusts photo portrayed - in fact mine do it just walking up stairs, I've always been a little self concious about them - especially the last few years when it seems fashion has gone to "look how skinny my legs are" skirts and pants.
I think part of it is genetics because my other female relatives also have firm muscular calves.
I don't think it's a bad thing exactly - I know I tend to get alot of compliments on my legs but I understand how you feel, despite the fact that it's a shapely curve to the back of the calf you can't help but feel a little guilty when pants that fit around the waist won't around your calves (thank Agnos for flared pants!) and buying knee high boots can suck. It definitely makes you feel less then dainty and feminine.
Still I wouldn't change my calves for a skinnier less muscled pair.
