Zone Alarm Pro
is a pop up blocker! I use it and I haven't had a pop up ever since I started using it. Open up ZAP and click on Privacy. Then the custom button in Add Blocking. Make sure Pop up/pop under is checked and you'll never get a pop up again. Uncheck animation and the animated gifs will play again. In that same section you can also block all Banner adds.
