I don't really feel screwed over, although maybe I should. We've no clue what goes on behind the scenes of a program like this. I got the sense that a lot of this show is "seat of the pants" production. You start with a rough outline and adjust for breaking news, leave a little extra in case a guest says something interesting worth following up, wrap as much as you can around the commercial schedule....
I had an ominous shudder when, about 10 minutes before we were to go on, they ran a story of local folks defacing and damaging imported cars. I don't know if that story affected how they treated our appearance or not, but I thought, "Oh, shit! We're gonna get blamed for inciting this bullshit!" Anyway, it is what it is and we move forward. we got a good plug in for the club and our upcoming show.
A couple of people told me we looked and sounded good, a couple of others tell me I was off key. I dunno, I still haven't heard it myself. I was told that Fox 2 had the clip up on their web page, but all I've found is a blurb pointing to a free download we set up:
MyFox Detroit | Download "That Ain't the Motor City" by The Romeo Flynns . Since Fox's dvd burner wasn't in service this morning, I'm stuck waiting for a friend to post the clip, or send me a copy on disc so I can post it. Meanwhile you can follow that link to the free download, or just go here:
The Romeo Flynns | What's Left Records and get it.
