Is there an "end"? I got to the cave and "continue" four or five times and didn't really see any meaningful change in gameplay. What are we looking for here?

Edit: I realize this isn't supposed to be half life 3 or anything, but I was just curious if you can progress and win or if you pretty much just cycle through the same level avoiding the little baddies (except when they rape you horribly).
