best time I ever had was 8 months on unemployment. I had a reserve of cash (small) to help with finances during the time and I spent most of my time learning photo shop and...stuff. just reading and learning stuff. I rode the bus and had a short walk to the grocery store.
I was more than happy with life on the cheap. freedom from work was the best thing ever !
