The biggest part of any exercise program is working it into your schedule. I remember my senior year of an engineering degree and I didn't have much free time. So, make sure you can set aside three hours a week towards exercising.

I would recommend having some consequence for missing a gym session unless you had a major exam or project to complete. But if you were just lazy, tired or distracted doing something non-productive, then have a financial penalty for missing a workout. Or since you have a finance it could be something sexual if you are a poor college student.

And make sure you eat a good diet. Get some healthy snacks and meal alternatives that are quick. A George Foreman grill helps out a lot if you aren't a vegetarian. Eating a lot of fruits and vegetables should be a big part of your diet anyway.
