Glass half empty, glass half full...you're aware there was this black guy just democratically elected to the most powerful and important position on the planet? I can't imagine a more substantial racial progression than that, and funny, but where else in the world could that possibly ever happen but within the good ole US-of-A, which is really what this conversation is trying to be about
: maintaining and fomenting the image of America as a place of crippling, overwhelming racism. Characterizing it as such just a few weeks before a Barack Obama Presidency seems to me more obnoxious than anything else.
