So I am 23 years old, a senior in mechanical engineering, and just recently engaged to my boyfriend of 4 years. I am a typical girl in many ways, I love to shop, I love to be social with my friends and family. I put on makeup and do my hair on a daily basis. My downfall, something becoming more apparent when I am shopping for clothes, is my size. To give a quick rundown I am 5'5 and the last time I weighed I was at 127 pounds. Given I don't believe I am overweight, I believe I am in a healthy weight range for my height and age, however I am not happy with myself. I know a lot of this may be mental but when I look in the mirror I see thighs and a stomach that could use some toning. I use to weigh around 118 till I started an internship this past summer and developed an office butt. Usually I end up loosing it all when school goes back in but this year with senior design and lots of project time sitting with groups members and at a computer needless to say the weight hasn't gone anywhere. Not to mention the horrible eating habits of living in my senior design lab and having Bojangles, Cookout, Wendys and such on a daily basis. I like to cook, however these days I need cooked meals that are simple, easy, and quick.
What I am looking for is some kind of exercise program to get me in shape and shed a few of these extra pounds. I have tried about three rounds of working out on my own but I simply don't know enough to stick with it. I need something structured and with guidance to help me achieve these goals. I have seen several infomercials for P90X and Turbo Jam. They look great and I have looked at customer reviews on several fitness websites, overall they both look very appealing. I am looking for feedback from any of you here who may know about these programs or working out. Anything would be helpful to get me going in the right direction. Thanks so much.
