My parents have plans to do this during their retirement as VIA has some really good deals for seniors (not that I'd call my dad a senior at 62, but he sure knows how to milk that senior discount). They run a promotion from time to time where if the senior buys a ticket, their companion rides free (regardless of their age, which is good because my mom is 9 years younger). I wish I could go too
