Life is empty and meaningless. There is no inherent meaning or value to that thing called "my self" or that thing called "my life". Any meaning we add to life is meaning WE add to life. Including (and here's where the Existentialists went off the track) despair over the meaninglessness of it. Meaninglessness doesn't mean anything either.
If you can really get that, it's VERY good news.

Makes perfect sense to me. In fact, it's actually more of a comfort to me to think that life is completely inherently meaningless than to believe there's some grand design. I might not like the grand design, or the person/thing that designed it.
A meaningless life is a free life. Being able to add meaning means that it's all a blank canvas waiting for color.
