What sickness?
I think there is a natural curiosity about the charges alleged against Palin
coming from inside the campaign....not from partisan Democrats. There was post-election sniping between the Kerrry and Edwards staff in 04, but nothing like this.
Combine it with her performances in her limited interactions with the press and its frightening to some that Palin could have been a heartbeat away from becoming the most powerful person in the world. The general consensus among
many conservative pundits was that she was in no way ready, at the national policy level, to be in such a position.
Can she become a force within the party at the national level? Probably so because she obviously has appeal to the social conservative base.
Whether she can ever appeal to the party insiders or the broader voting public is a different story. First impressions are hard to overcome.
