I have used the VCF vaginal contraceptive film back in the 90's with a g/f who was on a medication that had a very remote possibility of deactivating her pill. It was a little odd, and there were a couple times when it didn't dissolve completely (think "goopy clump") but I guess it wasn't a big deal. It wasn't a bad thing to have to put it on my finger and put it up her vagina. You should look into the ring. It is actually a lower dose of the hormones and I didn't feel it or anything when my last girlfriend used it ("ring toss" became an interesting euphemism for sex, btw).
