I usually just use soap -Kirk's Coco Castile- and the white Scotchbrite if I want to exfoliate. Also, my Grandma makes soap. She used to actually sell quite a bit of it. She always give me a few chunks when I visit.
Except that I sunburn easily, I hardly ever have any skin problems, but then, I hardly ever wear makeup. Hmmm? I wonder if there might be a connection??
