Yes sir, I am on Treasure Island. Went to welding and firefighting school there.
Fun times. To graduate the school you had to don the "hot suit" (a silver looking thing with a helmet that appeared to be made by NASA) and walk through a 30ft diesel fire, pick up a 5 gallon bucket of water and walk back out.
A couple years later I found myself in Samoa where I visited the grave of Robert Louis Stevenson. His tombstone reads:
Quote:
Under the wide and starry sky,
Dig the grave and let me lie.
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.
This be the verse you grave for me:
Here he lies where he longed to be;
Home is the sailor, home from sea,
And the hunter home from the hill.
