I have a 8800GT from when they were not even on the shelves yet, and it's been a great card. It's old tech now, but still an awesome card.

I would look at newegg over bestbuy to see if you can get a better price (and a better model, no limits on what you can buy there). This is the section you want: Newegg.com - Video Cards, NVIDIA Video Card, ATI Video Cards, AGP Video Cards, GeForce Video Card, Radeon Video Card

Find the budget range you want, then the card you want within that budget. If I were you, I would then push up to the next bracket and get a card from that range. Slightly over budget, but damn good hardware.

I am an evga fan because of the warranty and the step-up program. Never used it, but I like it anyways. I would get this card, specifically, unless you can go higher on the budget, in which case I would go for a newer model
