I agree 100% Dunedan, it is hard to fathom how the US with what I would imagine would be the longest standing codified legal tradition would see it as legit to borrow from other countries. For example Asaris saying how foreign law is used to explain the 8th amendment... what the hell is that about... the only thing that I could even consider would be British law that predates our own constitution, but even at that not much of it is codified, so how is it relevant?
Although I do like your explanation Asaris has to why other countries no longer need to borrow from our precedent.
