As far as requiring challenges two weeks in advance - challenges to what? registrations? or to the identy of the voter? you wouldn't know about the latter until someone shows up to vote. how about if someone shows up on election day claiming to be a person who is registered - can the poll worker ask for ID? if not, suppose the actual registered voter died within the prior month but the poll worker couldnt' check that becaues there wasn't a challenge two weeks earlier? You'd want to have someone vote twice? Sounds like a recipe for mischief to me.

I'm not talking about voter identification. I'm talking about voter eligibility. Is the person registered to vote eligible. If you want to challenge that then challenge that 2 weeks in advance. Identifying the voter at the booth is a separate problem that we could discuss for hours. Also if someone votes twice throw them in prison. I bet you wouldn't get many people voting twice anymore. There should be a single voter registration database that all states share if this were the case registering in multiple locations under the same ID would be impossible.
