Updating previous reports for well over the last 24 hours, NE Patriots placed QB Tom Brady on IR with an unspecified knee injury requiring surgery and he will miss the rest of the season.

Couple thoughts I want to weigh in on this one.

1) In typical cheating cock sucker fashion the team HAS NOT officially announced what is wrong with him, only saying in their official press release on the web site:

"After extensive tests this morning, it was revealed that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's left knee, which was injured in the first quarter of yesterday's game, will require surgery. He will be placed on injured reserve and will miss the remainder of the 2008 season."

I personally wouldn't have been surprised if they did surgery, and just listed him as questionable each week and never started him, kinda like the BS they pulled with Deion Branch a couple years ago.

2) This is NOT the first person to have an ACL injury, also not the first time a highly touted player has had an ACL or season ending injury, yet all the media outlets are acting like the NFL is going to crumble now that he is done for the year, I guess this goes into all the NE Pats man love going on. NFL Network had the LA Dodgers team doctor on with a fake knee today showing everyone how an ACL works, and what happens when it is injured etc.

Now of course I know with Fantasy Football being such a big business now, this is one of the reasons that the media is pushing this one so big since many people had Brady as a consensus first round pick with his 50 TD and all from last year, when history has shown that the QB who throws for that 45+ mark goes right back down to their career averages the following season, could FF be the reason that everyone is making such a big deal about this injury?
