Advice on 3D Modelling Software

I'm looking for a program to make 3d models of some of my artwork, and then also to make models of exhibition spaces to integrate art work into.

Preferably the program should also allow for the creation of small "videos" in and around the space or model created.

I'm a fast learner but would prefer something relatively straightforward, due to my lack of time for something fiddly that will take me months to learn to work with.

Anyone have some good recommendations?

I have looked at Google Sketch Up and don't yet know if it's going to do what I want.

I'd like to know other, better options.

Thanks for any help

Cannot be transfused into word or book.
Our soul from us is infinitely far.
However much we give our thoughts the will
To be our soul and gesture it abroad,
Our hearts are incommunicable still.
In what we show ourselves we are ignored.
The abyss from soul to soul cannot be bridged
By any skill of thought or trick of seeming.
Unto our very selves we are abridged
When we would utter to our thought our being.
We are our dreams of ourselves, souls by gleams,
And each to each other dreams of others' dreams.
