Alaska has a
senate race this year and unfortunately for the Republicans, it is 80+ year old Senator Stevens against the young mayor of Anchorage...and the mayor is running away it since Steven's indictment. The thought was reverse coattails could bring votes to Obama.
Oh well, at the very least, another pick-up for the Democrats in the Senate...one that they didnt expect this time last year.
