Part of the issue that I think is being overlooked is what impact this kind of technology is going to have on future generations.
Google is useful and all, but to some extent it does promote less deep reading because the most relevant information is always readily accessible. However, deep reading and contemplation are necessary prerequisites to critical thinking and applying imagination and creativity to real problems.
If we are raising generations of kids who rely on Google for quick answers, does this come at a cost of shortchanging their critical thinking skills?
