Not sure if this was mentioned already, but Georgia 'started it'. Russia is capitalizing on the provocation. So our relative justification for stepping in is dubious. So they'll take whatever they can in this instance probably... But the big question is what's next? If they invaded Ukraine, for instance, would there be enough justification then for intervention? No clue, there...
