The Dark Knight--8/10
I am not an action movie person. The only previous Batman that I had seen was the cheesy TV show on Nickelodeon in the early 80s (re-runs). I have not particularly liked Superman or Spiderman (I think I have seen one of each).
But this movie caught me by surprise. I was totally drawn in--and very impressed. I could not recognize Heath Ledger throughout the entire movie-- I can't remember the last time that I was so convinced about someone being in character. A few things were superfluous and could have been dropped--and the storyline was just a LITTLE bit too roundabout--but overall, I was thoroughly entertained and had tons to discuss with ktspktsp afterwards. I would almost go see it again, just to make sure I got everything.
